“Empowering Voices: Advocating for Patients and Physicians.”

 Program Description

Needs Assessment:

There have been many changes that have made taking care of patients more challenging than ever.  Oklahoma has no shortage of added factors that compound the difficulty for physicians.  From obesity, abuse, food deserts and rising costs of things needed to support everyday life, our patients have such stress to contend with.  And we as physicians are dealing with these as well, along with the cuts to physician payment and no adjustments to inflation to this payment.

 Program Objectives:

The OOA winter seminar focuses on all these issues, and attendees will have more tools and updated education on ways to help our patients as well as themselves endure through and improve outcomes for overall health and wellness.  They will have more insight into things to be monitoring for to prevent harm and empower our patients to advocate for their safety and wellness.  Legislative and legal updates will be included that apply to primary care and specialty practices.

Program Agenda

The OOA designates this activity for 17 AOA Category 1-A credit hours and will report CME commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
