Rules & Regulations

As a member benefit, the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association reports all members' CME hours earned at OOA-sponsored events to the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners and to the American Osteopathic Association. The rules and regulations for CME requirements are as follows:

OKLAHOMA REQUIREMENTS:

  • According to the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners Title 510:10-3-8 osteopathic physicians are required to earn 16 AOA Category 1 (A or B) CME Credits every year and 1 proper prescribing credit every year.
  • All osteopathic physicians licensed by the state of Oklahoma are required to apply for license renewal on or before June 30 each year. The license renewal period begins May 10. To renew your Oklahoma license online, click here.
  • Any questions regarding these requirements may be directed to the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners at 405-528-8625. Telephone hours during the May 10-June 30 renewal period are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. After hours assistance is available by appointment only.
